⁵ “For ^(A)the waves of death encompassed me;
^(B)The torrents of ^[a]destruction ^[b]overwhelmed me;
^6 (C)The cords of ^[c]Sheol surrounded me;
The snares of death confronted me.
⁷ “^(D)In my distress I called upon the Lord,
Yes, I ^[d]cried to my God;
And from His temple He heard my voice,
And my cry for help came into His ears.
